Zega Intelligent Cookware

How Does Zega Work?

Zega is the world's first app-enabled walkway cookware that does the cooking for you.

During the Heating-up phase, simply turn on the stove, add your ingredients, and when it reaches the required temperature, switch off the stove and walk away. The Self Cooking phase then begins where your food continues to cook without gas or electricity, and the Zega app will notify you when your food is cooked.

The secret is the double-wall construction that sandwiches a thermodynamic layer of air between two sheets of 18-10 stainless steel. This traps heat and moisture inside the pot like a thermos, so you heat it for just minutes, and it cooks for hours, off the stove, with no stirring or tending required. And because it continues to cook without gas or electricity, it saves money, it's better for the environment, and it's perfectly safe to leave unattended.

What's The Difference Between Zega Cookware And A Crock-Pot Or Instant Pot?

They are entirely different. For starters, Zega Intelligent Cookware is much better! Crock-Pots and Instant Pots are countertop electrical appliances, which can be slow or complicated to use. Zega is superior stovetop cookware that is incredibly simple to use and delivers excellent results every time. Simply add the ingredients, turn on the stove, and when Zega reaches the required cooking temperature (typically 5-7 mins), switch off the stove and walk away. Your food continues to cook without gas or electricity, and meals stay hot for hours without reheating. Also, Zega is the best conventional cookware you'll ever own.

Is The App Available for All Smart Devices?

The Zega app is compatible with:

• iOS v9.0 and above
• Android v5.0 and above

What Size Is Zega?

Both the Digital & Analogue models have a 5-litre capacity, perfect for cooking for 4, 6 or 8 people.Other key dimensions are:

Capacity: 5 litres

Overall diameter: 25cm

Diameter of the base/heating surface: 23cm

Overall height: 19.5cm
Measurement across the limit of the handles: 38cm

What Is The Difference Between The Analogue And Digital Versions?

Zega Analogue has an analogue knob with an in-built bi-metal thermometer and dial. Once you've put the ingredients in the pot, heat it up until the thermometer's needle reaches the red zone. Then switch off the stove, and the self-cooking phase will begin.

Zega Digital has a SmartControl knob with a high precision digital thermometer, microprocessor, Bluetooth connectivity and an LED screen. It also has a custom-built operating system providing full integration with the Zega app, so you can remotely monitor your cooking. When the heating-up phase is completed, you'll receive an alert on your phone, as well as on the knob screen. Turn off the stove, and the self-cooking phase begins. When your food is cooked, you'll receive a second alert on your phone and the knob screen. The digital SmartControl knob also comes with its own USB charging dock.

Both the analogue and digital versions ensure your food is cooked perfectly every time.

How do I cook using a recipe from the Zega app?

Selecting Recipes from the app main menu allows you to choose one of the delicious and healthy recipes created for you by our expert chefs.

Each recipe has a list of ingredients and easy instructions for you to follow. Simply prepare the ingredients, add them to the pot and follow the instructions to guide you through the cooking process. When your Zega has reached the required temperature, switch off the stove and select Start Self Cooking. Then you just walk away and get on with your day, and the app will notify you later when your food is cooked.

With the handy countdown timer, you'll always know how long to go and at what time your food will be ready to eat. During this self-cooking process, you can continue to browse the app by pressing the cross and clicking browse.

How Long Does It Take To Heat Up To The Required Temperature?

It depends on the amount of food in the pot, but typically it takes 5-7 minutes.

What Is The Cooking Time For Each Recipe On The App?

Each recipe's prep and cooking time is listed in the recipe Ingredients section on the app, just under the serving size information.

Can I Cook My Own Recipes In A Zega?

Absolutely! You can cook using your own recipes by using the Quick Cook function on the app. Just select Quick Cook and follow the instructions, i.e. prepare ingredients, place in the pot and select Start Cooking. You'll be alerted to switch off the stove when your food has heated up to the required temperature.

Based on the food category/key ingredient you use (lamb, beef, pork, chicken, vegetables, seafood), our chefs have programmed the app with the recommended self-cooking time to ensure your food is cooked perfectly every time, i.e.:

• Seafood – 30 mins
• Vegetables – 45 mins
• Chicken – 60 mins
• Pork – 90 mins
• Beef – 120 mins
• Lamb – 120 mins

These are the recommended minimum self-cooking times but feel free to adjust/extend these times to suit your preferred doneness and taste. Zega works better when your ingredients are cut into smaller sizes, i.e. 3-5 cm/1-2 inch cubes. And because of Zega's unique self-basting lid, your recipe needs pprox.. 25-30% less added liquid (water, stock etc.) than in your conventional cookware. You can always add your favourite thickening agent at the end to get your desired sauce consistency.

For further information, check out the app FAQs section under Cook using Quick Cook.

How Do I Clean My Zega?

We recommend using a dishwasher or warm soapy water with a scouring pad or sponge to clean the inside of the pot.

Note: do not use a scouring pad on the outside of the pot to avoid scratching the polished surface – use a soft, non-scratch sponge instead.

Is It Dishwasher-Safe?

While the pot itself is dishwasher-safe, the Digital SmartControl knob is not and must be removed from the lid beforehand.

How Should I Store My Zega Cookware?

Make sure to completely dry your Zega cookware before storing it as you would any other quality cookware.

Is Zega Protected By A Warranty?

Yes, your Zega comes with a lifetime warranty. This warranty excludes the digital knob and damage resulting from:

•Normal wear and tear, accident, misuse, abuse or commercial use
•Scratches, stains, discolouration, corrosion or damage from overheating to the interior or exterior of the pot

Note: A slight yellowing of the pot surface can occasionally happen after heating. This is normal, harmless and doesn't affect the pot's performance and is excluded from this warranty.

To request a warranty return or replacement, please email support@zegacookware.com with the receipt, a detailed description of the issue with photo/video evidence if possible, and we will provide return and refund instructions, including prepaid return label covering the return shipping cost.
